Talk about orchestration...
'The Manchurian Company.'
Let's see...a 'the company is being taken over' rumor,
adding Revs. with accounting change, stock split...what next?
If you think Ftnt is just an anti virus company
You should probably review their product offerings more. ftnt is in a big growth area in security. Security related companies are. An exciting area of growth in tech.
Are the lovers of FTNT still around? 4/27/11 price: $20 give or take. 1/30/13 price: $20 give or take.
How has this illusion worked out for you?
Breaks through $17.00 within sixty days.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
Great it is time for that split conference call again! I really love that first one...or is it the second one? Can't remember...
Putting up that big penny EPS growth? Hell, lets make it 70 P/E?
The surest short this year.
Last time...for those of you on this board who seem not to get the argument:
1. Most about this company is orchestrated PR and not about growth;
2. The PE multiple for this company is reserved for company's with explosive growth...not for those growing at 8% this quarter...if you disagree, put a fair multiple on it and justify the multiple.
3. At its heart, this is an antivirus software company...nothing more.
4. The stock is overpriced at 1/2 of its current value.
There are hundreds of great companies to buy out there; FTNT is not one of them.
See you after their earnings and at the end of January.
Re potential for Cisco buyout of ftnt - that is a interesting possibility. Cisco's ASA firewalls have not been as respected in the industry as those compared to Palo Alto or Fortinet. Have to remember, it is the technological established headstart and intellectual property that any suitor would be hungry for.
Recent comments by chambers only emphasized they will get away from consumer crap i.e. flip camera/linksys etc. and concentrate on the enterprise. So it is a REAL possibility.
