OT: for the longs like me sitting around with nothing to do
since this is one of the few highly active boards right now, here's another idea to consider with some of your profits: Smithfield Foods. I know, I know, you are saying "ARE YOU KIDDING ME? PORK?" This is the company that is going to be purchased by a Chinese company for 4.8 billion, to make history as the largest Chinese buyout of an American firm. I'm not trying to discuss SFD on the OSIR vboard, but go check it out: an activist hedge fund manager, (Jeffery Smith, Starboard) is putting together a competing bid that will either be for all of it, or to break it up in parts. He believes the company is worth north of $45. The Chinese offer is sitting at $34. I believe Mr. Smith. It may be a quick way to make $11/share. And diversify your portfolio a little. There, that's my two sense. SFD is the symbol. Really dead message board over there! Anyone have anything positive to say about ATHX? GALE? OPXA?
