I just got offered a 30 year fixed at 5%. And I'm going to wait a couple weeks because the CFO of the lender said they may drop to 4% or 3.5%. This makes home purchases dirt cheap in the beginning of an inflation cycle. I covered my shorts on MTH and PHM this morning and am using the profits for a down on a really nice house with a cheap price and a low mortgage payment. Meritage and the other builders are going to move alot of inventory next year. I had a hard time getting an appointment. I mean mortgage brokers phones are the busiest they've been in 2 years. They're actually now scrambling to add staff that had been reduced. This stock is SO overshorted Squeeze could take stock north of 30 in this environment!
