Each apartment unit counts as a "residence"..but it's smaller, has no yard..often no garage..and is simply not going to give builders the profit nor margin that they grew used to in the boom. Builder stocks will have to adjust to this reality, and even when "recovered" (2016?) must trade at lower PEs. MTH stock has probably reached, prematurely, its recovery peak.
Fundamentals always trump manipulation..and charts help: glance at MTH's volume last 2 wks: much higher..but stock still slumping. And in last 2 days, hi-vol. spikes can't even close the gap up to 26.5. "Wall St." has just about shot it's wad.
