According to Reuters, the contaminated chicken report this morning was initially reported by Xinhua. Has anyone seen it on Xinhua's English web page? I searched and searched and haven't found it.
Maybe the market is realizing by now that the Reuters news was another case of irresponsible journalism and that's why YUM is recovering from earlier losses.
Just "noise" to scare the lemmings off the cliff....
And, BTW... if the Chinese have nothing else to worry about than toxic chicken when it comes to pollution of their country.. that should be a plus. Nothing out of that country can be trusted, NOTHING. News are twisted, accounting rules are non existent, products are loaded with toxins, air is toxic.... etc.
Yep, was there two years ago and couldn't breathe in Xi'an because of the smoky flavor of the air. Peasants grow their own gardens to eat and won't eat what they grow for commercial sale because of the pesticides they use - don't ever fall in the Yangtze. Whole country needs cleaned up.
