    HP since XEC?

the spin off was to give HP the same multiple as other drillers....HP stock benefited in real terms from the spin off to Key Prod...the real estate I believe is commercial property in Tulsa....since many oil co.'s have gone to Houston the value may have dropped but it is still probably being carried on the books below true sale value...HP will
    move when the drillers move...

    • What do you think will be the spark which will lift driller stocks?

I would think they would be doing well now. What am I missing?

      • If I knew that Id be loaded up on options....
it probably is a mixture of politics,(no energy bill=no real direction),economic recovery(demand in the commercial users of nat.gas..chemicals,plastics,fertilizer producers etc.),weather(cold winter in the northeast),and lastly cap ex spending by the E&P budgets for 2004 could boost the
demand). We have new gas power plants,a commitment to N.G.and a wait of 3-5 years
before the arrival of LNG in volume capacity.
Somewhere along the way we need more gas either by pipeline from Canada, from GOM,or from new wells in the lower 48....those are
        the possibilities I see....the future holds the answer....growing economy is a positive....EOM
