all facing the firing squad.
Just curious, were any of you taken out by stop losses today?
Well said, Jamok! These guys are quick to forget the taunts that the longs had to endure during the last 3 years. And now, when you demand some credibility from them, they're acting like victims.
<<Yeah, he is the model poster isn't he>>
<<Prozac Joe is CRAZILY GAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SPECULAWYER9 IS INSANELY GAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BOTH OF THEM ARE QUEER LOVERZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!>>
Well, Spec, I knew you were gay, but I didn't know you were 'INSANELY' gay, nor was I aware that you and Prozac Joe were an item. ;-) What a service Meningitis' brain-damaged posts have been across time and across boards. Kind of like having our own 'National Enquirer' reporter to keep us in the know. He does carry on a long tradition of spouting nonsense, personal attacks, and FUBAR logic reflected by his brothers in arms - bullsh*tter, ccmic, it's 1930 again, tradingna, and that nitwit who disappeared a while ago who keep posting - ERTS to 45! GO SHORTS!
BTW, I think Daisy nailed bullsh*tter's exit strategy a few posts ago - disappear, see how things play out, and then reappear claiming the best trade possible (Remember when he was calling for sub-40, and ERTS went from 47.50 to the 60's, and he claimed after the fact that he covered his shorts at 47.75, within 25 cents of the low? The tooth fairy is more credible.) I'm thinking 'bedwetter' may be a better title that bullsh*tter, given how far underwater he is at the moment, and given his past penchant for taunting those who chose wrongly as 'losers'.
Now now, Spec, I was just telling it like it is, inferring about your quick reply to that options statement.
OK, fair enough. I didn't know you two were best friends before he started conversing with BK on this board.
"I feel that competion from other companies and even their own titles will limit their seemingly endless growth."
Eh, are you sure you typed correctly? "Competition from other companies?" . . . "limit their seemingly endless growth"???? I don't understand what you're getting at. ;-)
>Now now, Menghi, you know the rules here on this board, don't you?
Yeah, he is the model poster isn't he:
I suggest you listen to him.
>> It seems your bullish calls on ATVI and THQI, and your
>>bearish calls on ERTS, AMZN, EBAY and YHOO are all wrong. "
>Now now, Menghi, you know the rules here on this board, don't you?
He's been on my ignore list for a long time. Most of his posts are just of the "SPECULAWYER IS GAY" variety. But with this kinda of useless post, I think you'll be on the ignore list shortly.
>If you make a small mistake in your post, evvvverybody will be too quick to point it
OK . . . I'll point some out. My long of THQI @ $13 has done very well. My longs of ATVI at 13 (pre-slit) have also done well . . . but that is a long term play since I am looking to Spider-man 2, Shrek 2, and new franchises to power ATVI.
>But God forbid, if they make the wwrong calls, you wouldn't get a beep outta 'em.
I'm not sure what you mean.
>And Rule #2 - Spec is nevvvver wrong. ;-)
I didn't realize that you were such a fan of me . . . I hate to burst your bubble, but I am sometimes wrong. Clearly my ERTS short did not work out well. I still think it is over-valued and will become corrected eventually. I've been trading around the position by buying puts on spikes and selling them back when it goes back down a little. I feel that competion from other companies and even their own titles will limit their seemingly endless growth.
>Step two - Forget the options idea that Spec proposed. Are ya kiddin' me, Spec? Options are not for the faint of heart.
That is certainly true . . . not for the faint of heart.
>Trust me, many of us don't realize that those price quotes on the screen are 1000x. LOL
Yes . . . especially since they are 100x not 1000x. ;-) (They are quoted in round lots of 100.)
Ummm. . . about your first paragraph, my sentiment exactly!
Good luck with extricating from your positions here. Ya might want to try a 12-step program, like open a long position to hedge against your short ones. Here are a few proposals.
Step one - ya gotta get over The Nile* that this stock can still go up (*it's not the river in Egypt.)
Step two - Forget the options idea that Spec proposed. Are ya kiddin' me, Spec? Options are not for the faint of heart. Trust me, many of us don't realize that those price quotes on the screen are 1000x. LOL
Step three - Throw out the charts. If you know how to read them, so do the money house whose sole purpose is to make money and more money, at all costs. If the charts don't work for you then you bet they don't work for the big guys either. But the big guys don't play to lose. . .
I had to cover my short at 84+ this morning at the open at the high 82's. Bummer. Now the question is whether to short those shares again at 84+ near the close or just stand aside.
In case you're wondering... no, I'm not enjoying this. I have plenty of other shares still short with an average price well under water here. I haven't been able to improve my average holding price nearly as much as I'd like. But, I'm patient and not in significant pain yet.
Best of luck to all.
Dayzee, let me point out what a wonderful person you are to continually take joy from the financial losses of others. You show your true colors every time you do that, which is quite often.
People in glass houses etc... your buy the blue chips strategy didn't work so well on ERTS in the three years from January 2000 to January 2003, or on THQI which dropped 75%, while I used the skimming strategy here with great results. Remember that two year span when I said here that ERTS had no up-side? Yup. Meanwhile you've been calling for ERTS to go up for that entire time, and didn't you predict $80 to be hit at E3? But like all those who go to Vegas, no system is perfect. I took my losses on ERTS and went long last Thursday at around $81.
No prob, Rab. I write with glee and light humor everyday, just its meaning or ramification causes different levels of impact on the reader differently and depending on the stock direction. (When the stock goes down, ya'all just laugh off the warnings.) I did warn you that Deutsche Bank will own more shares (ending 6/30/03) than the number you posted, did I not?
"your buy the blue chips strategy didn't work so well on ERTS in the three years from January 2000 to January 2003 "
Where did you get an idea like that? I didn't do any buying during these periods of stock crash. All of my positions were pre-2000 and ERTS fared much better than most during these crashes.
"...went long last Thursday at around $81."
Thanks for updating me with your after-the-fact trade. Wow, you paid for than my 75.50 level? O horror! Good luck.
