This Quarter is going to get a nice revenue boost from all of the battlefield 3 players purchasing the battlefield 3 premium service. It is $50 for all digital (and high margin) content that will be released over the next year and a half. This includes 5 expansion packs, 20 new guns, 10 new camos, 10 new vehicles, and you get 2 weeks early access if you buy the premium package. That means EA is about to rake in a ton of cash for map packs that they haven't even made yet. I am an avid battlefield player, and I can attest to the fact that the battlefield community is one of the most loyal in all of gaming and that as much as 25-33% of players will buy the premium service, and many more will simply buy the map packs as they are released. There are over 14 million copies of battlefield 3 that have been sold, os that is a good chunk or revenue right there that could help them beat for this upcoming negative quarter.
