If you want exposure in this industry, look into Eidos (EIDSY). The stock has risen over 20% in the past two weeks, and this is just the start. They report in a couple of weeks, and earnings are going to surprise on the upside.
If you're not familiar with this company, the sell the hottest game on the market, "Tomb Raider II." Ask your kids about this. The best part of it all is they are not just a one hit wonder company. They have the best game developers working for them.
Questions? Post them here until we have a board for Eidos.
Interesting stock tip. Thanks. What other hits does Eidos have out there? Have they been around for 13+ years like EA? Have they been through several platform transitions like EA/Acclaim? Who are their developers and what makes them better than those other companies like Activision and Sony have? Other than Tomb Raider do they have other titles that they can sequel year in and year out like John Madden Football or NBA Live from EA? What kind of distribution do they have? Thanks but I think I'll stick with my stodgy old predictable ERTS stock. By buying and selling ERTS at the right times throughout the year I have made a little more than 65% on my money over the past 3-4 years with EA. Good luck to you with Eidos though. I appreciate the tip.
eidos is a major sharholder in opticom (15%), a norway company. opticom now only research in developing DRAMs which should store more than 1 GB (up to 1000 GB). These DRAMs are made with polymers. I don't know why shares of OPC jumped over 30% last week (this week OPC is going on to move up extremely). Perhaps of their announcment or rumor that production will begin at the end of next year.
