A confirmed discovery is not required for the presence of a petroleum system. There is migrated oil in the basin (seafloor seeps), reservoir is a low risk from from regional geology and nearby wells, and traps are defined on the seismic. Of course there are risks, among which are timing of trap vs. migration and trap integrity, but a proven petroleum system isn't one of them. The confirmed discovery is waiting for the drill bit.
Last shown position is just north of Cape Town, as of Sunday at noon. Not sure if its moored again there off of Robben Island, or if its on the move again, and just hasn't pinged back to the GSAT positioning since then.
