    long john silver chapter 11?

Did chx suffer any loss to the chapter 11 that was filed?
I have heard about a millon or so loss. not bad since
tsn will lose about 4 million because of the filing.

    • why did chx have eps of .68 for sept 97 quarter?
Chx is going to beat earnings this quarter. the stock
has moved from 17's to 19's too quickly. The upgrade
hasn't made that much of a difference.

      Chicken
stocks were brought up by one of the chatters the other
night as being hot right now. Momemtum may carry us to
25 sooner than we thought. Especially if chx beats
earnings estimates this quarter and next.

      Somebody
is going to get their head torn off on dec corn
      futures.
Dec corn futures will be between 2.05 and 1.90 at dec
      30. I will not be wrong on this!!!!!

    • Your year must run from july 1 to june 30. Look for $24 by Dec 15,1998. Go back and read the messages left by Dr.Jeckel reguarding corn prices.

    • look no futher for inside info on the poultry buss.CHX will hit the 20 mark before the year is over!

    • Were not here to lose money, your idea is
correct, my biggest downfall with stoploss has been when
they halt trading and reopen at a much lower number
only to bounce a few points higher. Lucky me, I get
the lowest price of the day. I also have some volitle
      stuff, gambling is gambling..

    • I have some volotile stocks. My philosophy is to
lock in a profit I am comfortable with, set a stop
loss and wait. I try to set it deep enough the MM's
aren't going to get me. Historically they will drop the
stock at times to get stop loss's. For example , my
stop loss on chx is 16 1/16. We got pretty close a
couple of weeks ago but the bastards didn't get me.

I prefer this to selling off and protecting profit.

As the stock moves up I will adjust my stop loss. I
will adjust my stop loss on chx to 17 1/16 in the near
future. I just try to stay ahead of the mm's.

    • Every time I use a stop loss order I get
screwed-whip sawed-bottom sale-ect. Id rather take my chances
with no order, let the dust settle, than accept my
loss or stay in at a price I know Im going to get..
Just my lifetime experience. Hope it never happens.

    • I appreciate your opinion. We are where we need
to be. You know the grass is always
      greener.....

Been watching corn. up about 10 the past couple of
days. I think the speculators are setting somebody up
for a screwing. I watch the weather channel like I
was raising the crops myself. The corn belt, ohio
valley has received ample moisture and looks ok to me
through the first of july with out undue stress, if they
weren't already receiving ample moisture. We WILL SEE
      LIMIT DOWN
      DAYS at harvest.

      Some bogus group
      has reported low moisture predictions.

      Been
over on tsn board having a ball. Found somebody that
knows some stuff about chickens. Arrogant as hell but I
      respect their knowledge.

      Been watching my techs,
hadn't sold my aol yet. Got a stop loss in if things get
crazy though. I still have one for chx too.

    • Your guess is probably the same mine. I dont
follow them either.. 1) Small company probably tide to
the price of feed since they just had a good quarter.
      2) Insider buying is not tremendous but helpful. 3)
Big move in Jan97 for unknown reason, probably a
failed buyout. 4) 5 year performance not to impressive.
Result--trade it for a couple a bucks as long as feed stays
cheap--maybe get lucky and get bought out.. beware of Texas
startup delays and cost overruns. Just my ideas no
      guarantees.

    • Would like your opinion on safm. Check out
insider action. I have never followed this stock. Have
you? Looks like it might be getting ready to do a
      little something.

I always like it when insiders
      are buying.

    • Just an idea--- Yes your right an offering
usually comes at a discount to the market. 11 5/8 was a
steal last year but the brokers touted up a good deal
to create excess demand for the offering so the
stock moved up immediately. Look at TWMC. Had a
secondary offering at 26 when the stock was at 31. But now
its a 40 number. Everyone likes a hot deal. The price
action from such a move could be what CHX needs to get a
pop. I also feel the added liquidity would allow the
stock to sell at higher PE multiples through increased
volume and activity. Those bastard brokers might help
you out for once, but don't bank on it.
