Anyone who harbors the notion that pilots are "a dime a dozen "is simply smoking funny tobacco...
For a synergy of reasons there is an impending and worsening shortage wi8th visible solution ... The industry faces a surge of retirements ....There is. a very limited ex military availability .. The high cost of training....and the low pay for newly employed pilots has sharply reduced the numbers of young aspirants ... There is a drain of new pilots moving overseas for higher pay ...a further complication : In the name of safety , the FAA has sharply increased the minimum qualification standards for newly hired airline pilots with reduced duty time limits ...and increased rest time between flights
To buy time , there is an impending increase of mandatory retirement age to 67... Canada has eliminated the limit entirely , so long as medical standards are maintained ..The solution will neither be quick , easy - nor cheap.... Anyone who thinks otherwise , should get a good nIght's's sleep and research the matter themselves .... I will not engage in any meritless dialogue on the subject ...
Hey stupid, every time you sit at your keyboard and type you are engaging in meritless dialogue. Nothing you say has merit. Nothing. Nada. (By the way, ever thought about taking an english class; might help). You are totally wrong on almost every point (training is, in fact, very expensive). No airline is having any trouble hiring pilots nor do they anticipate having trouble in the foreseeable future. Flight schools are full. When the retirement age was pushed out, the supply of pilots started building. There are plenty of pilots. So shut up already.
RJET has had to cancel flights since they dont have pilots for the turboprops. Check the pilot forums for other airlines that are cancelling flights, and some may actually close their doors, due to pilot shortages. If youre gonna be as nasty as you are , you should at least be right.
You need to be a little nicer, ... you'll live longer. Airlines are having trouble getting qualifed pilots, and have resorted to some pretty sad techniques. One group of new hires recently sat down for day one jet class, and were told they would be training on the turboprop instead. They all walked out.
Wouldnt have happened a few years ago, so something has changed!
Icstuff is free to believe whatever fantasy chosen ..Time will confirm the reality ...My presentation is based on factual research ...Sorry to say , I can't enlighten the truly ignorant and clueless . Abusive rants will not change a thing .........HAAAAA !
