Just a thought on the upcoming trial

We have frequently said on this board that the "risk vs probable benefit" criterion is a no brainer for the upcoming trial. Indeed, it is just a pilot study, with a possible pivotal study of thirty more patients, if requested.

As a result, many of us have posted that given the bar is so low, it will not be a matter of success vs failure but a matter of degree of success. I still agree with that sentiment.

My thought concerns the notion of "degree of success." Some have argued the only thing that will really drive the stock is someone walking. I disagree. After thinking about my buy/hold strategy following the initiation of the Pilot study, I realized that any degree of success will be all the success investors (not patients) need.

That is, even if all we see is recovery of bladder function, every family of an acute SCI patient at risk will want (demand) the scaffold as a part of his/her surgery. Of course, if success means some recovery of sensory/motor function in the limbs, that would be great (especially for the patient); however, the patient would still want the scaffold with no recovery of sensory/motor function but a reasonable probability of a functional bladder. It's just that important - ANYTHING is better than NOTHING!

Here's hoping for the notice of up-listing on MONDAY!

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • Envy...... I agree with your thinking. If we see patients walking, this will be a huge win...... if we see patients gain any degree of success, this will also be a huge win for mankind over and above the stock price. Although we are certain positive results will occur, nothing in life is ever certain except death and taxes (as my mom use to say). There is still a degree of risk, but like most on this board, I believe that degree of risk is minimal. JMO....

    • Well said.
