I'm relatively new to investing in stocks so I'm slow to buy until I've done quite a bit of research and compared several options. But I started losing track of which ones I've ruled out or put on hold. I have a very rudimentary excel spreadsheet that I track these on right now. But I'm curious what other people use. Is there perhaps a better online resource that you use? Or do you have your own mocked up spreadsheet? I'm talking about potential investments really. Whatever site you use to purchase likely has all the information you need to see current investments.
i just use yahoo watchlist and alerts. I have found being very patient and getting to really know what's going on with a company is best. I don't chase every time good news comes out. I bought a boatload of VRNG last week at 3.06. I actually used NVIV to recover an earlier loss in VRNG but nows the time to re-enter VRNG. I'm still very excited about NVIV prospects and will stay long here.
Seeking Alpha lets you set up multiple watchlists and has some nice fundamental analysis tools, plus the basic account is free (their premium subscription is a bit of a rip-off though). I keep a separate spreadsheet with buys, sells and price targets to reconcile against my brokerage statements, but that's not for screening it's for tracking.
