What happens if MU beats estimates?

Is this baked in to the price?

    • Probably not baked in. But it would be just like 'ol Lucy to then pop the bid back to just under todays current high of $9.37. She does funny stuff like that allllll the time....

    • I thought yesterday was Thursday and it turned out to be Wednesday so I get to relive all the fun I already had. Didnt noticed until i tried to check on the lack of earnings, So dont ask me . But I think its going down to
$8 after the run up. So I sold at $9.25, and then saw where they got bought out, nearly had a heart attack, swore off the coolaid for ever...recovered and getting ready to go bottom fishing...

    • Now this is going to be JMHO. I believe that we will see MU in the $16 range in 10 months with a PE of 11. I also believe that MU and Hynix will strike up some kind of merger or partnership within 14 months. Then I believe that MU will grow earnings at a faster pace and in 5 years sport a PE of around 16 and earnings of around $3.50 per share. I also believe that growth will also come from other products as well and could push up earnings well above the $3.50 level.

The pull back Friday was due to options expiration and nothing else.

      Sentiment: Buy

    • One thing I find funny about the market is in a lot of cases it don't matter if they match or beat estimates after numbers are released most times the stock retreats, I am not saying that this will happen, only that it seems to be the case, not that it makes any sense but it is often a reminder to me what Isaac Newton once said I have figured out gravity, the motion of the stars in heaven but I cannot avoid losses in the market, I love this game it proves it is better to be lucky than a genius!

    • You know it's not baked into the price. MU was trading as if it was going bankrupt but as you know MU is one of the winners of the DRAM war and will soon reap the rewards. ASP for DRAM has recently doubled and the Elipda acquisition are not baked into the numbers and this does not include the NAND and SSD growth. That said, I won’t be surprised if some idiotic analyst comes out and says this to drive the stock down in the very short term but MU will be generating $16 Billion in revenues and billions in profits and it will not be trading at $9.

      • Interesting that Greg is asking the question- usually he gives the answers. My opinion- if MU beats, the price will soar (I have zero shares of MU so I'm not pumping). MU has missed for nearly 2 years and a beat may indicate a change of the tide. I'm tempted to buy into the earnings but that would be a high risk gamble which I'm done with. I'm interested to see the guidance and that may trigger a strong buy. Lets face it- MU is positioning itself for a very strong future. Durcan took a gamble with Elpida and I believe he won. I'm still mad at myself for selling before 10 as I told myself I would hold to 10 last year- I would have a couple hundred extra grand in the bank- oh well.
