Wyoming Regulators Sign Off On 3 GW Wind Farm
...Power Company of Wyoming's (PCW) plans for a 3 GW wind farm. The developer has proposed to install 1,000 turbines... PCW hopes to commence construction on the first 500-turbine phase of the project by 2014 year-end and finish by the end of 2018. Construction on the second phase is planned to begin in the second quarter of 2019.
(world’s biggest wind farm - cost $5 bln - power for 1 mil homes)
Is Broadwind Energy-BWEN getting some (or all) of the tower orders??? Project’s first phase construction start (end of 2014) would work out perfectly with late 2015 into 2016 and beyond tower production as BWEN CEO pointed out in the recent conference call on 8/1/2014:
“Our tower production capacity is two-thirds sold out for 2015 and we're in late-stage discussions to fill the remaining 2015 capacity and are discussing 2016 and beyond. I fully expect further progress in Q3 in filling out 2015.”
- BWEN posted profit for the first time in company history with huge backlog and cash on hand.
- Share price, after a pullback in recent months, broke out the downtrend at $8.80 and is heading higher back to mid-teens and above. Considering all-time high of $290 in 2008, easy 5-10 bagger or more in the upcoming months/years. This is a low-float stock. Share price can go up pretty quick.
