This looks like the fourth 10% decline in the last 12 months. What has such an effect on this investment? It looks like a consevative financial entity. Do problem markets like Argentina and Brazil weigh heavily on this company? TIA
History has shown that this bank gets paid no matter how bad thngs might get, I think that most of the c urrent investors are not aware of the special relationships that existed and still exists between BLX and the Latin American banking community.
thanks -that confirms what I felt reading between the lines in the little bit of dd I had done. It seems like Central and South America have a lot of potential based on demographics if nothing else. I have visited Panama and Costa Rica, but have never been to S.A. My wife lived a year in Argentina prior to our meeting. Panama is opening a very large copper mine. The Canal is a cash cow. I would love to live in that area.
