Who will pay more for silver tomorrow?
Who will work for money that is worth less tomorrow? Then worth less the day after that and so on....
People are not dumb. They will not work for worthless paper if it buys less and less.
History is on silver's side, not paper currencies' side.
I would rather bet on a sure thing long term and put 10% of my assets in it than put 100% in emerging markets or whatever and hope. Remember, this is insurance against the inevitable elimination of the "fiat standard". Paper money will go away, just have no clue when.
When it happens, everyone will exclaim that "they knew it was going to happen!!!"
Is this what the coin dealer tells you when he gladly takes your paper in exchange for his metal??? Same old story, different generation. Snake oil comes to town in a different wagon.
I see so many people here talk about "Fiat currency". What currency isn't a fiat currency?
All currencies are fiat currencies.
Now I'm reading. "I would rather bet on a sure thing long term". Is there such a thing as a "sure thing"?
No there is no such thing as a "sure thing". If there was such a thing. Everyone would buy it. When has that ever happened?
Pay in what? Fiat currency? Gold?
So, you invest in something that pays you more (recently) in worthless dollars? I see many people happy about getting $36 an ounce for silver, but wait, I thought the dollar was worthless? You are happy to get more worthless dollars?? What a conundrume.
