Like most everything, the price of a haircut has gotten a lot higher through the years. I was thinking about getting my hair cut today. My barber charges only $8.00, which I think is pretty cheap, but I live in small town in AZ., so I guess it should be cheap. I got to thinking about how much I use to pay for a haircut. When I was a kid living in Milwaukee, my parents would send my brothers and I to an old barber, he charged $0.50 and gave you a tootsie pop when you left. That was a long time ago back in the late 1950's. The thing is, I can still buy a haircut today with that same $0.50 because back then I paid with a 90% silver half dollar. Today, that silver half dollar is worth about $10 in fiat and will still get me a haircut. I think that is what's meant by silver being a store of value. If you buy silver today. you are locking in today's price for future haircuts, gas, food and just about anything else you may need in 2, 5, or 50 years. JMO
Absolute fact.........i just got back to my office from getting a haircut. There's a spot right around the corner from my office in the Financial District in San Francisco. Just a regular haircut. How much? $50. Yes, $50, for a normal, simple, run of the mill haircut.
Well mine is 26 but its because I have done work for my barber b4!
I think the norm is 34!
I give her that anyway as she needs money to survive like the rest of us!
She did say she would barter though!Gold or silver:)
