    elon needs to make money!

I understand that it is fairly insignificant near term. But, if Echelon's technology is as good as it appears to be, wouldn't logic dictate that McDonalds will take the results of the 1 test store, disseminate that information to it's franchise owners, then allow them to each decide if they want to upgrade to a more economical, efficient business? And staying with the logic theme, would the franchise owners not want to upgrade their restaurants? I have never been mistaken for Warren Buffet, but I do know that the stock price of a company is based on potential future growth, not the current value. So, if you wait for McDonalds to upgrade 30K Stores, and if you wait for PG & E, SDG&E, and the rest to update to Echelon technology, you are certainly not going to get this stock for $20 or $30 a share. Hell, you might not see $40 or even $50.

Do you mean the stock should be selling for prices higher than those numbers or that a stockholder will never see those numbers?

The McDonald's deal is more symbolic to my way of thinking, of major, high-name-recognition companies adopting this energy optimization technology. We'll see McDonald's provide market leadership. A pied piper if you will, leading the technically enlightened to the Echelon camp.
