    Dividend cut

I was referring to current earnings per share being quite a bit less than distributions per share. Dividends can't keep coming out of undistributed earnings very much longer. Dividends will start containing ROC soon if they are not cut.

    • this CEF has one of the lowest yields i've seen when looking at equity CEF's. i have a small position and have bought/sold a bit over the last few qtrs. they cut the div by 30% or so back in 08. i can't imagine they would have to cut again.

i like the lower yield as the lower payout allows the fund to get some capital appreciation. some of the higher yielding CEF's barely increase NAV due to the high payouts.

if dividend income isn't enough to cover the payout, is it a bad thing if they use capital gains to supplement the difference ?
