NG prices usually run about 2-3 months behind on payment of trust. Which means that the income of CHKR should go up next quarter from NG sales IF big IF they get a better price for NG which historically they have really gotten less than Henry Hub by a lot. H.Hub going above $4 bucks now and CHKR better get at least a 1.50 if they hold the lagging they have been getting.
Long before they announced the bad news on the reserves and production of oil I was watching the very low price they were getting for NG. Most of CHKR revenue comes from oil and not NG however so even a 50% increase in NG price would not mean much in dividend unless oil goes up as well.
and yet today, May 1st....oil got crushed by $3/bbl....and this stock went up. Maybe these high paying dividend MLP's are a great place to hide when all else is falling. market has gone up huge last year or two so as it seems to be topping with threats of crashing.....we might see money flee to these stocks. Low risk, high dividend...whats not to like? Other than taxes that is.
