Anyone notice that around half of Hess "peer" companies has zero or maybe one non-management/independent director with any oil & gas operations experience on their boards? The median (not mean) energy industry experience among all peers is close to zero. Check out the boards of Exxon, Chevron, Occidental, Shell, Statoil, etc. Not saying it's right but Hess' board experience is more the norm than exception. Independence is another issue but it's harder to verify/compare just by looking at peer websites.
