STC just announced a doubling of their dividend to 10 cents which is kind of pitiful considering they are sitting on over $10 per share in cash and over $6.65 per share in cash net of long term debt.
And, in years past, they paid a 75 cent annual dividend for 3 years preceded by 46 cents for 2 years prior to the 75 cents.
Paid 75 cents in 07,06 & 05. 46 cents in 04 & 03.
With the tax situation, an argument could have been made for a several dollar one time dividend this year.
