    baseball strike

question, if baseball goes on strike does that help dolan's negotiating leverage, since the YES programming will not have the yanks to broadcast, and thus should we see a rise in the stock price ? only serious answers

    • No, I don't think it does anything other than stave off loss of subs to DirecTV. If CVC get's a different deal than all other other MSO's, the others will want to renengotiate due to the "favored nations" clause in the agreements.

No budging on either side, regardless of who say's they're "negotiating". It's lies from both sides.

YES won't negotiate, CVC won't negotiate.

    • A strike would hurt CVC as well because of their stake in several regional sports channels
A's Reds Indians, etc.not to mention the limited Met game package on CVC.
i can't imagine too many people who would benefit from a strike. What would YES do?The entire channel is predicated on live Yankee games. The biographies, etc. are nice but I wouldn't imagine a strike making Dolan rush to the bargaining table-.
YES would have no advertising revenue until November, when the Nets start their season(assuming I'm correct that NET ganes will be on YES)
