There are some rumors that Warren Buffet and others have considered acquisition of EDE, but not before Congress finally passes the energy bill. EDE is very attractive as a take-over candidate eventually.
But I'm not a speculator and have made a series of 6 buys on this stock beginning in November/02. My average cost runs a tad over $20/share. If you do the math on this, the dividend rate really pops higher for my shares given the steady dividends. My average return (dividend) works out to about 6.4%, but a new buyer today would get 5.5% give or take a little.
As time passes......because of the solid balance sheet, the attractive take-over quality, the good dividend record and rate, and the dividend tax breaks......I really believe this stock remains a good investment. And they will pay you well while you wait!
