The fantasy of the people who grew up in the 1950s and dreamed of retiring and travelling in an RV is over.
No other generation has this dream. This is a declining industry now and rising gas prices will accelerate it's near death.
There will always be a very small market for RVs, but much smaller than the glut of RVs for sale right now.
Further, we're heading into another worse recession now. The government stimulus bubble is over and the crushing grip of the new healthcare bill (which will wildy raise healthcare costs) is going to destroy everything.
The money is spent, the debt is deep, the pres is clueless & older people are going to hurt most. Even the retirement age is going up to 75. The old dream of retiring young and buying an RV is DEAD.
I hear lotsa reasons to short this stock, but noone's looking at the whole picture. people are probably more apt to buy an rv due to the price compared to a house. people are being foreclosed on and a camper trailer's probably the way to go when you're looking to find jobs somewhere in this country. campsites are cheaper than renting a house or an apartment. when you buy a house, you're stuck in 1 area. retiring folks arent the only ones buying camper homes. the working class willing to go anywhere to look for jobs is probably buying too
