    SJT Taxes

OK fans. The word is obviously out. I am being inundated with requests for the SJT tax spreadsheet.

Here's the story: I had a little too much time on my hands over the last week, forgot to take my medication, and became totally consumed by SJT taxation. I could have (in fact, I did) just manually calculated my royalty income and depletion amounts for each of my SJT lots, but that only took an hour or two. The wife was obsessing on SoDoKu puzzles and was otherwise unavailable, so I decided to create a spreadsheet that would make it totally brainless and simple to calculate SJT taxation for the next 10 years.

    If only I knew....

After I don't know how many hours (my wife was pissed) I came up with a spreadsheet that actually seems to work. It is currently in the possession of 4 esteemed members of this board who are using it with their own SJT purchase and sale lots to see if it matches their manual calculations. If it does, I plan to post the spreadsheet on a web site so that everyone can download and use it.

I'll let you know when the QA process is complete. In the meantime, no more emails (please!)

    cf
