I was hoping to pick up a bit more SIMO under $3 before the end of the year. Doesn't look like it's going to happen, maybe because there's no tax-loss selling possible for those that bought this year (it's actually up from a year ago), and the long term holders don't want to sell right now. Maybe the people that made short term gains will sell in the first half of January, which might give me another entry point...
ADX and DM+ is up.
there's a technical entry, when it pulls back to the 21EMA ?
breakout above 3.73?
tough to enter this close to earnings report.
If there's a pop, you'll probably need to enter at a "breakout" type price.
But if there's a drop, you'll probably need to enter at a natural support area
I think January will give you oppurtunity to buy more, where the price will go I'm not sure.
I think this market is headed for a healthy correction. We've made higher highs on lower and lower volume, ADX on the indexes are way low.
%change for this quarter may be perceived in 2 ways (decreased based on an elevated original EPS or increased based on revised down EPS).
Remember 4Q08 was ok, but was revised down when the cost of goods sold was increased because of write-downs.
It will be interesting to see how the street sees the EPS.
Think of it this way, if SIMO had to divest itself, how much would they get? Is that price below or above today's price?
