    PROC/ROC =6.8X

PROC just released a news article that her GDP is approaching RMB$10T. Coupling with the collapse of ROC economy, the GDP ratio is 6.8X vs 2X pre-Moses.

The bad news include widening income level as the average per capita income is $1400US in East vs. $600 in West (E&W not defined). Also, foreign investments total 5% of net worth and is rapidly rising (foreign not defined either).

      They are bunch of idiots.

    • DPP is worse than others.

    • They are searching for so called "new direction", which is to deny their roots, slightly different from the culture revolution in China, but essentiallly the same strategy, the same thinking patterns, the same undelying "logic".
      ------------------------

Well, what I have been pointing out is, denying their roots is not a necessary condition for their political cuase. Worse, it is even misleading of the whole issue of the independence movement.

That is why I say their strategy is wrong. denying the roots will go nowhere actually, because it is impossible to convince the majority of the people in Taiwan that the Taiwanese people is not part of the greater Chinese people. Accepting and recognizing one's own roots does not rule out the political cause of pursuing independence. They fail to see this point because they borrow the outdated concept of nationalism from the European histroy of the 19th century. So, they then copy this concept to build their own "Taiwanese nationalism." lol....

My point is this: with or without this narrow-minded nationalism, the real issue of the Taiwan independence movement does not rely on it. That is, if they succeed, they do not succeed because of Taiwanese nationalism, and if they fail, their failure does not come from a lack of it.

So, you may want to ask, if it is not nationalism, then what? Well, there are many efforts working on this topic in the political science departments. What can be said now is, one necessary condition for political independence is "geogrpahical
sparability". That is, one can identify the border of the territory for the new country.

Right now, instead, one would like to examine the "feasibility" issue of Taiwan independence movement. The current non-unification status with mainland China has many dimensions. One important dimension is the need of a balance of power between China, Japan, and USA in East Asia. In terms of strategic or geopolitical concerns, Taiwan occupies a very crucial position in the West Pacific region. If in the future China wants to become a navy power, she has to have Taiwan. Japan will not accept this situation. So, USA then "protects"Taiwan from mainland China's invasion so that Japan will not have execuse for rearmament.

This is why right now Taiwan can have some degree of "independence". So, in short, due to the sophisticated geopolitical/strategic concerns, Taiwan independence will be up to USA's approval, which won't come true. Unification with mainland China is not mature, however. So, as you can see now, Taiwan can not get full independnece, not because she lacks a version of Taiwanese nationalism. If the DPP people fail to attack the right issues, then their political cause will go nowhere eventually.

    • Military means do not really solve the political issues. Rather, political issues should be attacked at their political roots.

If Taiwan independence movement is right, then a war can't stop it. If it is wrong, then you don't need a war to stop it.
