These 2 links say both the Japanese and the Korean came from 2 branches of people: the northern(Altaic) and the southern(Malay-Indonesian-Philippine). Later, the northern branch became dominant in Korea, while the southern became dominant in Japan.
The northern branch has paternal family structure; the southern is maternal.
The cultivation of wet rice, which requires organized labor, led to government, commerce,...etc. And it was started in the region bordering Myanmar and China and eventually spread to the region south of Yangtse River, south of China.
I did read the second article where the author claimed that the Yamato was more linked to Korean and was little influenced by the Chinese culture. The author first changed the history book to cover his war crime, and now is trying to change his own origin. If he is ashamed of the Chinese influence, please ask him to return all artifacts robbed from China.
His claim is just hogwash. Can a Korean speaking person learn Yamato easier than a Chinese speaking person? For centuries, Chinese culture was the center of universe, second probably only to the Egyptian. The influence was so strong that the Korean and Vietnamese languages are almost one to one correspondent to Chinese. The influence was so strong that the Japanese scholars sprinkled Chinese words in their writing to show that they were learned. But the king has died, and all of these are history. Our future is in our hands.
I like to remind all fake taiwanese that we are all equal. I have the luck to know and work with super-genius One got his PhD at 13, and another got 3 degrees from Caltech by 20. However, slowly and surely other hard working scientists make equally impressive contributions. Our accomplishments are more affected by our attitude and opportunity. So, the japs are not superior to the jap running dogs, in turn not superior to the little ROC citizens.
I laugh at your pathetic attempts to put down China. You are just jealous because China happens to be the strongest nation in Asia and you are not Chinese. Also, China is one of the strongest nation in the world today and you are not part of it. I bet you would love to tear China apart and see its people fail miserably. Is that your goal?
paying sake head 3 years of wages to come to the State to work in the sweat shope ? Why they willing to be smugled in UK in refrigerated truck and got frozen to death ? Why the citizen of the strongest nation only make $400 a year ?

Sorry to disappoint you, but that wasn't my intent. Your buddy, johnluk, said Korea and Japan were part of China. So I decided to see where Japanese came from.
China is NOT the strongest nation in Asia. Japan is. The strongest nations in the WORLD are: US,Japan,Germany,France,Britain, Italy, and Canada. Recently, Russia has been added to the list rounding the G8. China is still considered to be a third world nation.
Someday China may become the strongest nation in the world. But I hope China won't. Because I am afraid China will become so brutish that the whole world will sink into the second DARK AGES, judging from the hyper-patriotic posts from the likes of Johnluk on this board.
I think Chinese culture is becoming a propaganda. It is over rated, over hyped, and over ingrained into the heads of the "real Chinese" people bent on subjugation and territorial conquest of other nations.
If the Chinese culture were so superior, why did the Japanese, after Meiji Reform, whip you left to right during WWII? Why did Godfather lose China to Mao, who embraced communism, a foreign import from Russia(originally, Germany---Karl Marx). And why the current Chinese are so proud of the China's "progress" as evidenced by the shinning skyscrapers dotting the landscapes of China? Those shinning skyscrapers were built with foreigh money with foreign styles, I remind you.
If yours and johnluk's view is representative of the Chinese view of China's future, it is too NARROW minded. This reminds me of the way the KMT felt after losing power to DPP, as expressed by wowgone, that losing the presidential election in March, 2000, was like ROC losing China to the comminusts and this reason alone made DPP the KMT enemy---lack of understanding of democracy because you Chinese know nothing about democracy.
