Taiwandaily published an article on 060204 on the inauguration dinner. The Grand Hotel won the contract to cater the dinner at NT$2500 per person. It hired a number of trucks to transport the furniture, utensils and food to a conventional center as DPP underestimated the number of participants. The hotel was closed for one day as the 400 chefs, waiters were needed to serve the 800 guests. DPP bragged that the deal was excellent as the cost of food alone was more than the NT$2500 bill.
Had the Grand Hotel been an independent commercial venture seeking the prestige or publicity, I would not repeat the story here. The news article failed to report that Mrs. BBQ Rabbit is the CEO of the Grand Hotel.
