The crop report is likely to be on the low side. However, too low a number may make it likely that the corn ethanol mandate (that gas contain a percentage of ethanol) will be lifted. Animal feed lobbyists are putting heavy pressure on D.C. to suspend the ethanol mandate.
Sounds too good to be true. I heard the contrary and the Fed was looking to switch to E-85 gas. Talk about having a screw loose. The ethanol gas makes cars run poorly, gets worse gas mileage and leaves sludgy deposits in the engine. Also clogs up fuel injectors on vehicles so equipped. Four states are asking obama to lift the mandate with the crop loss from the recent drought. Will it take a presidential election year to get this guy's attention or will it continue to fall on deaf ears. Big ones too.
he already promised some key farming states that he is against lifting the mandate...and he promised cattle states the the government would buy some meat to prop up the price. He won't get votes by lifting the mandate...just the opposite. The end of September there will be news on the mandate...google it
