I am dumping some of my PSTI and looking to get into some other Biopharm stocks...I have ACAD and it has been performing well. What else are you looking at?
TSRX and two big ones...CELG (lots of recent gains, consolidation or pullback in order) and VRX (currently extended, I think). Both CElG and VRX have run up a lot as has much of their group - may be kind of frothy.
TSRX also popped recently and should report good results for phase 3 - II for their drug that treats gram positive bacterial infections w/ relatively minor side affects.
Check out ATRS (antares Pharma). They are not really a bio company. They have a unique product line of self injectable Needless pen syringes. They have a several products but the big deal is a product that the FDA will rule on soon. (october). They use drugs that are already approved for oral use but set them up for self inject to bygass the gastric system.
Other drugs that can't be taken orally need to have the patient visit the doctors office. Insurance co's don't like that 'cause it's expensive.
That's the bottom line story. Do your own research. there is more info on the co's website and also in the news. Check into their financials and make sure you're ok with the risk.
Yes I bought into that co two weeks ago. I'm in pretty deep.
I just looked at the chart action today on this. Somethings going on. It's up over 4%. Check out the Seeking Alpha articles by a guy named Scott Mathuson. He has a pretty good handle on the bio sector.
