Who's "we" kalafella? What you described with Ants is a middleware solution that can present databases to foreign applications in a standard way. The Raytheo system says it can handle thousands of various users and systems...
You need an ecology to do that sort of thing. It's why there is a MLE patent for data virtualization and a Siteflash for arbitration into an ecology.
So, where does Ants fit in to the ecology?
PS - it would be nice if you could manage to get through a partial equation much less act like you have the marker on the whiteboard. Your helper is going to get plenty frustrated with your ignorance.
Looks like Ratheon has ANTS all over it. I didn't see anything with Vertical when I did my DD on XLM and Raytheon. But I did find this:
IBM (NYSE: IBM) and ANTs software inc. (OTCBB: ANTS), have been selected by Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems to provide software for the detail design and integration phase of the U.S. Navy's DDG 1000 Zumwalt Class Destroyer Program.
IBM and ANTs will work with Raytheon to develop software for mission-critical shipboard electronic and combat systems for the DDG 1000 program. Under the Navy's DDG 1000 Detail Design and Integration contract awarded in 2005, Raytheon IDS serves as the prime mission systems equipment integrator for all electronic and combat systems for the DDG 1000 Zumwalt Class Destroyer program.
