Excluding any acquisitions for the year, that will move the revenue number in particular higher. I am personally very happy to see the low end of that EPS range. Perhaps this can get the outlier at Octagon to come to his senses, too. :-)
I'm just going from memory here (which at my age...) but I think the $1B target was a $1B run rate by the end of 2007. This means that they are running at $250M / quarter by the END of the year, which is different than achieving $1B in revenue for 2007 since the company will still be ramping up through the year. Also note that the STKL indicated that the revenue mentioned for 2007 was before acquisitions and that they plan to continue with acquisition program so that may add another $100M - $150M.
In summation, I don't think they have given up on the $1B goal.
The $1 bln was the exit run rate at the end of '07, i.e. a quarterly run rate of $250 mln at the end of Q4. Looking at the data provided this morning we will end up right in that area, I suspect JK will touch upon that in the CC next month. Also, keep in mind that an Opta Minerals divestiture this year would moot that $1 bln point.
