Why do I feel like I am banging my head against a wall?

Having 4 out of the last 5 quarters miss earnings is not good, but yet, I hold because of the "potential".
Of course, there's always "next quarter" or the wild card of the divesture (but I am not holding my breath re the latter).
Pretty low volume for the day post "earnings".

    • I agree with tgagrippa. Right sector, wrong management. Out of "30 some-odd factories" one short term shutdown from one customer at one facility blows a whole year of earnings for the entire company.
Management has for years failed to deliver the margins required to be a competitor in this industry. I don't believe this company has a viable future without wholesale changes in management personnel, which seems unlikely to happen if they are kept on the payroll after they have to repay gains from insider trading.

They find excuses for their losses instead of finding a plan for profit. RUN FROM THIS STOCK!

      Sentiment: Strong Sell

    • I think it has something to do with China, and the competitors who are importing their organic grains.

    • I think you spoke for many -- you spoke for me for sure. I suspect our management here is not all it should be. You've only to look at HAIN and WWAV, for example, to see what's possible for companies in this sector. I will continue to hold but my (painful) experience has taught me that management issues equals sell. Because I'm fairly new to the stock, though, I'll wait and see.

      Sentiment: Hold

      • I've been long STKL for some time, but also HAIN, which is my largest individual equity holding.
You are right: evaluating management (the best one is able to) should be a key criteria for deciding whether to make an investment or not.
I've been flirting with the idea of selling STKL and buying WWAV, but buying at this level sure is paying for growth!
        Cheers.
