    SARS EFFECT

<<<I worked in Japan and Hong Kong Kong. ALL of my contacts there tell me that SARS is overblown. The media is feeding this fire>>>

I'm not sure why SARS would have that big of an effect upon SNE anyways.

Is China that big of a market for SNE? Last time i looked, China wasn't even on the radar screen for movies and most things that SNE sells.

    • Shame shame shame on China and Toronto for that matter. Such a shame these politicians care more about promoting their own selfish gains over the safety of human beings!!!!!!!

"The WHO would like to congratulate Vietnam on being the first country in the world to contain SARS," Pascale Brudon, the WHO representative in Vietnam, said at a news conference in Hanoi.

No new SARS cases have been reported in Vietnam since April 8. WHO has set a 20-day window double the disease's incubation period as the standard for lifting travel advisories and declaring that an outbreak is no longer spreading.

    • It is a matter of consumer psychology: the stupid media have labelled SARS as a doomsday virus and this has seriously dampened consumer confidence in Asia. Whoever knows statistics realizes that SARS is NOT as detrimental as what the media claim.

Good news is that Toronto, Vietnam and even Hong Kong have, so far, been able to control SARS. Now, the key is CHINA.
