how can this be true; heard it on t.v.
if true, why bother manufacturing it ?? MORONS !!!
I have a Vizio and it has a great picture at 1080p.
If they're stupid enough to build a $4 BILLION plant to build TV"s, they need to fire someone. All technology prices drop shortly after they are released into consumers hands (unless you happen to be Apple with a bunch of sheep following you). What electronic devices don't drop in price? PS3 - $600 down to $250. XBOX 360 $400 down to $199. TV's $4000 down to $500. It's part of doing business. If they can't sell TV's above cost, then stop making them. Pretty simple if you ask me.
That's Crazy, the TV's are already so expensive. What is it that costs them so much?
I don't agree with that, flat screens have down a great deal. Right now, you can get a Toshiba 46" 1080p LCD for just over $800, that's expensive? I remember when something like this was thousands of dollars. The competition always benefits the consumer, but the TV makers take it bending over. It's a tough business now, like I said, Pioneer gave up. They made great plasmas. Remember, the cost of new automated TV plants are extremely expensive. Sharp built a new one in Japan, the cost was huge.
You have a key point here, Pioneer saw their Flat screen TV's losing money and got out QUICK! Sad, they were amazing! Prices have gone down so much, that even Panasonic is also strugging. I guess the Korean flat panels are the ones doing ok???
look for prices to increase, it's really the only way.
Sony LCD's are already over priced. If you want high end, get Samsung. If you want value, get Vizio.
