Don't count on it. The SNE 12% drop on a few million shares was irrational and it will likely reverse in the next few days. The company has too much going for it this holiday season and it will easily reach $25-30 PPS next year, imho.
Did you hear how the CFO brushed off Third Point's question in the conference call? They asked if the loss was due to the "films" rather than the TV programming, and CFO answers "Yes, it's due to films", then TP asks another question, then CFO says "it's better to discuss this later in investor's event". Need to exert more pressure, the number of flops this last quarter were staggering.
You're probably right. However, as investors, more pressure needs to be exerted on management to pull things together. From what I can see in Morningstar is that none of the executive team has options/shares as part of their compensation, that needs to be fixed so that investor and management interests are aligned. Also, I heard the word "hope" several times in the conference call, is that where we are now? Hoping for the best? Really? That's just unacceptable. I don't like active investing, but sometimes a company needs a wake up call.
