    Sony has...

well i know for a fact that sony was
these things (high end digital tv's and
vcr's) at least as far back as '96.
    there is no
    "copying" here; the idea is

    now the TiVo
stuff, on the other hand - i'm
    rather dubious of
    that. how many people will
    be buying a digital vcr
    that can only be used
as long as you keep up your
    $10/mo payments?

    • Are you also misinformed...the GRAND
ALLIANCE...was a group of companys that developed, invented and
intstituted HDTV, the DIGITAL US version, the standard for
NORTH AMERICA, not the ANALOG Asian, obsolete, was made up of PHILIPS,NBC,RCA,ZENITH, and a few
others(even though they are now only a name, owned by the
much larger than SONY LG ELECTRONICS ,Goldstar). then
AT&T, General Instrument and a few others with their
ideas merged the two features, that became the HDTV now
on the market. Sony had NOTHING to do with
will probably appear in ADS that they had something to
do with it....they did nothing in HDTV....What do
you think a "digital" tv is?...TiVo is in fact
      ANOTHER amazing development...notasony.
