Couple of sleazy hedge fund managers go to UNG fund manager and tell him they have a great idea who is going to make all of them rich. They say they will keep shorting the UNG as long as he makes bad trades. First they fool average investors into thinking that they are investing in Natural Gas, billions are accumulated in the ETF. Then the shorting by several hedge funds starts. Normally shorting is very risky bu these hedge funds are confident in their trades as they guaranteed the drop in share price. Of course to be on the safe side, they could manipulate the NG future prices too in case the UNG manager changes his mind.
Do you think this is worth reporting to the SEC? I can't really come up with any other explanations to why UNG is going done when NG is going up.
If that happens and I hope it does I will fly out to where you live, buy you dinner and drinks granted capped at 2,000 bucks as fine wine can get very pricey.
I wonder if Hyland collects wine like Chesy's CEO, I would love to get my hand on a few bottles on the cheap. I tried for the 82 (birthyear) when Chesy's CEO was selling but didnt land it as I was hoping it would impact other actions of that vintage, never did.
I offer you a deal. If you answer this, I will let you free from your cage:
1) I work for a hedge fund who has access to insider information
2) I have firsthand insider information
3) I am not that bright.
4) All of the above
What if, in lieu of the amateur attempts at mystery writing, you spent your time learning about the market you are trading?
I cannot get over how absolutely ignorant some people are. I mean, do you not have the desire to understand? Do you not seek to replace confusion with lucidity? You get one life man, why not seek to better it through knowledge?
There is NO MYSTERY in UNG. NONE. It is performing to the LETTER of its prospectus. There is no deep throat. There is no conspiracy. There is no manipulation. Just continued ignorance desperately attempting to reclassify itself as anything other than what it is: you didn’t read the prospectus. You people are stunning.
And yes, I am going to ridicule you – think of me as promoting efficiency – someone needs to help you in the price discovery of yourself.
Buddy, You have no idea how the Wall Street minds work and how the wealth of our country has been plundered by these crooks.
OK, there is definitely a manipulation going on here. If the UNG management is not involved, I hope that is true, then somebody is controlling the futures markets before the UNG has to buy/sell contracts. Remember, anything that is predictable can be taken advantage of. Same way, crooked Wall Street hedge fund were shorting the markets last 2-3 years with the knowledge that the 401K plans and mutual funds can only buy stocks not sell.
