cnbc is questioning their guests now as what to do now that the market is down a big 100 points. it's so sick how they are trying to justify the market being down...like it's not allowed to go down. Buy Apple, everyone hates it.
I know. Isn't it ridiculous? Frankly I think their jobs are on the line. Their ratings at CNBC have been dismal, and they're under pressure. That's why they ran their stupid "rise above" campaign before the fiscal cliff situation, complete with printed buttons and banners.
Now that the Dow/S&P are near new highs, they're trying to cheerlead their way up. Having said that, today doesn't look like a dip that people are buying, this looks more like a nasty surprise that Europe is still having problems (nothing has changed there, only the perception).
good assessment as to what's going on. as far as cnbc, I know their ratings are in the toilet and I find myself turning them off more and more. try watching Fox Business news at 3pm with Liz Claman, much much better than Maria and the entire cnbc cast. It's 2pm now, I'm putting on Antenna TV and watching Adam 12 until 3, then I'll put on Liz for the last hour.
