Why assume that every time the stock goes down it's the shorts? I still have a profit and could sell if I wanted to thus realizing a gain. Other's may be doing that. That's not the "shorts". It's called "selling".
i'm curious as to why so many people think the shorts are losing this war - Why wouldn't shorts do the same avg up to minimize losses that I would do as a long to avg down? If I shorted at $17 & $18, lost the trade, I would have held, shorted equal amt at $24 $ $25 and got out free or minimal loss near $22/21. The fact that CLF is not running after I/O spiked up and the latest ER beat tells me shorts still run this stock. IMO they are getting out with minimal losses and I want to see the new short numbers for a confirmation. Expecting about 45mm
