    Misguided venom

I know we are all in the market to make money. Shorts and longs. But it is so disconcerting to see the venom the shorts have for this company. Why? The company has worked hard to create a platform which may lead to a more cost effective way to create medications for so many people and so many potential diseases. The rising healthcare costs in so many countries don't allow for people to receive proper treatment. I hope none of the shorts or his/her family ever has Gaucher's or Fabry's or severe rheumatoid arthritis or is a victim of nerve gas poisoning. And if they do, I hope their insurance company is willing to pay $250K per year or they can afford that amount of money as a self-pay patient.
I applaud the shorts for utilizing free capitalism to make money. I applaud their being right in their financial judgement of PLX. But lets all agree that there are patients benefiting from Uplyso. I believe that the founders of this company have more than just a financial motivation. Money is the bonus. Traders have no understanding of scientific accomplishment for the good of helping others.
Lets hope that one day PLX or a company like them can be successful in lowering healthcare costs and providing treatment for those who need it.

      • Jurek, You should hope that one day you or a loved one doesn't need long-term protein therapy. And if you do, I wonder if your insurance company or the government will be happy to pay for animal cell recombinant protein synthesis. Or maybe you can pay yourself. PLX represents all that is good with science and technology. Very smart people trying to make a difference in the world. And make a living doing it. Seems like you spend most of your time on the computer making stupid rabbit jokes.

    • One thing I know for sure that FDA don't work with the drug makers to make R&D of new drugs. FDA think that they're not dumb. If FDA think something is wrong, FDA should ask for PLX to verify it right away. This way would take years to get a drug into the market. Anyway I don't play much with companies that never have a CRL. Buy on the next low volume!

      • We believe they’re all addressable (issues) technically, and scientifically we do not see anything that is a challenge,” CEO David Aviezer said on an investor call this morning.

Seems like Protalix has confidence in its response to the FDA.

I don't think the company expected to be asked about the switchover study data as part of the NDA.

Can't blame the fda for wanting to get this right since this platform for protein synthesis can potentially be used in so many other drugs.

I just wish they asked for the data prior to the PDUFA date. I'm not sure why the FDA wasted time in bringing this more cost-effective technology to the market.
