Will numbers be released immediately? Just nervous that the hype is larger than the numbers will be. Is the logic entirely that the books success will practically guarantee BO success or is it also the hole made by Harry Potter and Twilight is supposed to automatically filled with Hunger Games? The previews so far on their own merits, much like Twilight (non-book reader), don't blow me away. Much of my interest is curiosity and hoping it will be "THE" hot new franchise. Hope the upcoming previews leave you with a "I have to see what happens" feeling. On another note Weinstein Brothers made a deal with Netflix and China is gonna be big (huge) in a few years.
What's going to set HG apart from Twilight is it appeals to older audiances as well. I am 33 and a lot of my friends have read the books and love it. So they will be going to see the movie along with the tweens.
83% of Fandango- not too shabby, but not a great measure- are there any decent movies out now. Noticed about every newspaper had an article - even Reuters- nadda in yahoo finance yet. Every article mentions the 83%, the Mall tour and 400 freebies for campers and such. What bugs me is the total comparison to Twilight's numbers- they set the stage pretty high eye?
I never saw or read any of the Twilight books/movies. My daughter did read all of the books, saw the first movie and lost all interest any the rest of the movies. She wont even read the books anymore because of the movie. Both of us have read these books and are very excited about the movie coming out. This movie I feel should bring in more boys then Twilight did. Is of course is just my opinion.
I can tell you that tomorrow I plan on buying 7 adult tickets to the midnight showing at the IMAX. Those seats are $13.00 each. From what I understand listen to my 17 year old daughter a lot of her friends are looking forward to this film.
