    • Michael Burns did a good job as always in front of the camera. One thing that confused me was that he said that most of the money from HG DVD sales will be in October? I took that to mean the profits, not the cash. How can that be when there are over 5.5million DVDs sold by the end of September? Hopefully, he meant the cash, but not sure.

The great part of what he said related to the Divergent series. He said they bought the rights to all 3 books and that it is tracking better in the life cycle than Twilight and Hunger Games.....sounds like he is optimistic for another juggernaut franchise.

      • I still need time to do a thorough analysis but at least this question I asked from Michael Burns 6/9/2012 CNBC interview was answered in the CC:

Michael Burns did a good job as always in front of the camera. One thing that confused me was that he said that most of the money from HG DVD sales will be in October? I took that to mean the profits, not the cash. How can that be when there are over 5.5million DVDs sold by the end of September? Hopefully, he meant the cash, but not sure.

An analyst commented that Free Cash Flow was lagging Net Income this quarter and it was clearly noted that while the REVENUES from the HG DVD sales were shipped and recorded prior to the end of this quarter, the CASH receipt from all the vendors will be received in Quarter 3!!! So more positive to push into next quarter....millions! Despite the timing issue, cash flow was positive and ahead of prior quarter by 45%.....can't imagine what the increase will be next quarter!

      • Odd. The bulk of Hunger Games' revenues comes in October, right? Did he mention the word "earnings"? Management promises EBITDA growth, but not one dime of earnings. See where I'm going with this? They have to report earnings this quarter.

        Sentiment: Hold

      • Just wanted to highlight Michael's comments on Divergent:
i was in atlanta thursday night and picked the right night to be on the set. francis laurence is directing the movie, looks like a giant blockbuster, which we sure hope it is. but we also have other things in our pipeline like divergent, which is a book series we bought and a trilogy of books and it's outpacing both twilight the series of books and hunger games a the this point in the life cycle. that's exciting.

      • I just watched the CNBC segment. Michael Burns specified that the majority of HG DVD revenue will be included in the 3rd quarter. "The majority of our money for Hunger Games DVD, which is obviously a blockbuster, ..., I will tell you that most of our money comes in October, which is in our 3rd quarter...

      • Evan Daugherty is adapting Veronica Roth's novel "Divergent" for the screen. Summit Entertainment has set March 21, 2014, as the release date for its film adaptation of the young adult novel Divergent.

Written by Veronica Roth and published by Katherine Tegen Books/HarperCollins Publishers in May 2011, the novel tells the future-set tale of a 16-year-old girl who must decide to join one of five ideological factions that control society.

        Sentiment: Buy

      • I was wondering if anybody could clear that up. My read on it was that we should be in for another bumpy quarter -- hence his qualified statement that EBITIDA was not affected but earnings would be. It sounded like delivery on HG revenues would track in October. I don't know why that would be, but I'm not too familiar with accounting practices.
