Hummmm....so the board gets replaced and the company gets sold eventually, you are still left with a play that produces far more gas than expected with higher depletion rates. You would need to drill like crazy to make it work. Is it really worth it considering there are far better stocks with strong balance sheets out there just as cheap without the risk? I still think TPG and Lee Cooperman over paid. Isn't a green win already priced in? Isn't that what is holding the stock price up? I think it's going to be one of those sell on the news events on the 15th.
It is too bad that TPG and TW have to put shareholders through this at all, there are better ways to resolve compensation and governance issues. There is nothing more boring and unproductive than a public #$%$-showing contest. My belief is that this is a business of discovering resources, producing them at a low cost, selling them at a market price and making a good profit doing it. It is also about risk/reward. One has to be willing to take some risk based on the belief that the Miss will be a profitable source of hydrocarbons. Contrary to what Willy says, leveraging your assets can be much more profitable than a not leveraging it, providing the benefit-side of the leverage sword cuts YOUR way.
By your own point, we can't go wrong with TPG ( Green card) If things are as bad as you proclaim, then vote green, let them sell the CO. and we make a few bucks a share, or stay with Tom and the BOD and watch the stock go to under $1. Thank you for pointing that out for us!!!
The thing is, I'm not stuck here like most of you. Maybe it's all just a conspiracy by a half dozen or so firms to drive the price down. Who knows? But why take the risk if you don't have to? Is SD really worth it?
Jeez, I just saw the $1 price target. There are no shares available to short this. Didn't you think it was odd that they were talking about selling or going into a JV with there prized salt water disposal business which Tom Ward suddenly got #$%$ talking about during the CC? They need cash big time. I own PGH, or XCO or DVN or APA, anything than this trash. They all pay nice dividends and have strong balance sheets. You just can't make money here.
