I think CC and forward guidance will trump earnings performance....better than expected earnings would

be an added surprise...Tom's gotten F's on his report card every why anticipate a passing grade right when he's getting expelled ? My interest is all about TPG's present influence in making changes necessary to turn a profit and return shareholder valuation via sales/operations.So far they have just about filled out the first foursome for the Ex-Sandridge Cronie Golf Tournament which hopefully will be a shotgun start with foursomes at every hole...maybe even A-B-C flights.
I'm more interested as to what assets will be sold such as the Trusts, Leaseholds, Operating wells. I fully expect any of the real estate holdings not related to the primary business will be liquidated and I would expect and hope most or all of the sporting sponsorships will terminate as soon a legally possible. Whether sale proceeds go against debt or help offset termination costs, who cares.
Some folks think TPG is helping to keep the share price down while they "load" the boat for a better cost basis. I think with 10% of their public holding positioned in SD, they aren't worried about loading the boat but rather getting the boat headed upstream ASAP. In my opinion TPG bought as many shares as needed to take control of SD with assistance from some other large shareholders. TPG has moved quickly in implementing changes, sold planes, hired outside employee compensation expert, hired independent law firm to investigate Ward. Those aren't moves that weaken valuation, so I believe TPG is fully engaged in raising share valuation at present. The only folks who should have been loading the boat are those that think this is gonna be a solid turnaround story or a relatively fast flip for valuation via a sale. I did, I do, and I done did !!!
