I am going to stick to my convictions. I just don't believe Sandridge is for real right now. I'll admit, I never saw SD rising as it has, but I just don't believe its all clear sky's from here. SD may be worth 8-10 dollars based on the asset base, however the company itself up to this point discounts the value of this company. I think SD hits 5.25 before it hits 8. I mean we are talking about SD here ladies and gentlemen, this stock doesn't just go up the way it has, it's acting like a winner for once in its life. Congrats to those who have made money, however I suggest you look at selling a quarter of your position and look to buy it back if it falls, which i suspect will happen, sooner than later i might add.
I believe you will be proven, right !
$7.50ish before, earnings,.. then steadily,.. UPWARDS to,.. $8.50 / $9.00, by end of year!
Buyout by Summer, hopefully ?
PS,.. Christine,.. I left you a message "back", where we we "chatting" this AM.
Based on your opinion (above) you should be shorting SD. I AM NOT SHORTING THIS STOCK (SD) here. I don't put an $8 target on SD near term, that number ($8) will require greater successes in the Miss. If earnings reports are hot thru the May14 report, $8+/share will be a "snap". The energy space is bad place to be shorting. If you want good shorts, go look somewhere else, where valuations are sky-high on investments from Fed money.
i don't short stocks and i wouldn't short SD at its current level, its on a fence right now imo and i don't want to try and guess with my money which way its going to go.
Well I guess that's just a matter of opinion, because I see myself watching from a far, a bunch of people investing irrationally and speculatively. And I know what normally happens in this type of situation......
But hey, you're pry right, because i'm never right, I'll stop holding up traffic and let you really smart investors keep driving down your road you are. I'm gonna keep driving in the opposite direction tho, because I have a feeling there are no gas stations the way your headed.
IMO Sd was never even close to bankruptcy....ASSETS IN THE GROUND. Ward became a target, hedgies decided the one way shareholders would vote for vhange was to deflate the share price....then they traded on 5-10% swings to keep their checkbooks whole.
Ward was THE FIRST to transform his virtually ALL NG company into an Oil and NG company, thereafter, others followed.
To be blunt, SD was never fairly valued at 4 to 5 bucks. Taking that as a background to my point, SD should be in the 7 to 10 range right now! It has the assets, it has a management crew that is alittle more user friendly with shareholders, analysts, and the industry.............and it appears SD might have morte assets than thought. As I said before, prosuction rates, cost controls, and the outlook going forward are going to take SD to the range it should be trading around.....which is in the 10 range.
Frankly, I don;t care about fair value except i would like to see the price reflect REAl fair value. Its the premium I want to see! Whther its a buyout, or, assets discovery.
One thing is clear now, production rates will continue to climb and, management has stated it is focussed on cost controls. These two dynamics have changed the game for SD and shareholders should be rewarded even more so than to date with this new management team.
Show me another gas and oil with similar assets in the ground as SD that has been stuck at 4 to 5 bucks!?
that was a PROTEST WARD share price....and nothing more........all IMHO of course.
Agree with your comments that SD was never fairly valued at 4-5 bucks. A combination of Wards excesses, bad management, the bargain sale of acreage my CHK, heavy short activity, and the unknown production of the Miss (previously) combined to cause SD to be unfairly valued. imhl
boar, my friend,
You are wasting your "breath" on,.. Intelli,..
NO one "here" can convince him that,.. SD is in,.. FULL "turn around",..MODE.
I'm UP,.. over a Buck a share,.. that's all that matter's to me,... "PROOF's,.. in the Pudding"!
I tried to talk "sense" and "reason" to him, over a year ago,.. he's,..a lost cause!
So to sum up what you're saying is....'I totally messed up analyzing SD and got it completely wrong, advocating selling and thus have proven myself to be an idiotinvestor, but now I'm gonna keep saying the same thing because maybe in 6 months or a year or 2 maybe I'll be right".
Check, thanks for coming out.
Yes, Krill that is exactly what i am going to do you fool. when you find an undervalued company what do you do? You buy it and recognize that it may not go up tomorrow or even in a few months, however down the road, it should prosper. SD is an exact opposite, I think it is overvalued CURRENTLY, so assuming things stay relatively the same, i believe it should fall from here.
If sd executes their plan which they've never done before than perhaps the value in the assets should be recognized, however they are not there yet.
